What are Chemical Reactions?
You have probably seen the volcano experiment before, where baking soda and vinegar are combined to make frothing ‘magma’ come out of a bottle or a modeled volcano. Well, that is one example of a chemical reaction! Everything is made of matter. A chemical reaction is when different substances are combined and react with each other to form a different substance. Once a chemical reaction occurs, you cannot reverse the change. These chemical reactions often produce tattle-tale signs to show that they have changed (listed below).
